Otherwise, you could have the VoIP line be a "soft-phone", where the phone is plugged into your computer. | |

| Re: 800 number I have 1 phone line but 2 phone jacks though. I was looking to use my 2 phone jacks for my regular phone and then using a VoIP phone on my computer, giving me 2 different phone lines (the 2 phone jacks are on the same phone wire through out the house.) My 2 phone jacks are for my home calling and the VoIP is for my online business. The VoIP seems cheap and last I checked, you didn't need any connection to a phone wire in order to receive calls. |

| Re: 800 number I forget the company that I use to use, but I don't currently have a 1-800 number set up for any of my businesses. I think that I will be looking to get one again soon, because it's nice to have in certain circumstances. |

| Re: 800 number I used to have a Kall8 number - their prices are pretty good. Basically, you can route the call to another phone number, or you can just send it to your Kall8 voicemailbox. And the cool part is that you can set it to email each voicemail message to you! |

| Re: 800 number Hmmmmmmm, seems like a good company. But like I said, I think 800 numbers are good for "masking" a personal home number, but then again, can't really send it to your home phone cause God knows who will pick it up AND who will be calling. |

| Re: 800 number I agree that 800 numbers aren't going anywhere soon. I also feel they can be used as a goodmask and also to lend credibility to a business, especially a new one. I know when I have the choice to do business thourhg an 800 number or an area code, I go the 800 number. (Maybe old fashioned, but there's still a lot of us out here!) |

| Re: 800 number I just signed up with VoiceNation and it's been great so far. I clicked buy and was immediately able to call my number and set up a greeting. Plus they have a bunch of 800 numbers and it looks like Kall8 only has 866, 877, and 888.

| Re: 800 number Yeah I really like them as well and was able to get a 1 (800) prefix for free when places like gotvmail charge for that. and got to pick through a list of numbers which was really cool. VoiceNation also lets you receive faxes and sends them to your email for free when gotvMail charges. I guess I'm a loyal customer. |
