Do you do any investing?

I was just wondering if anyone here does any investing in the stock market or in other people's businesses. I had a bunch of stocks in the 1999-2002 era, but I haven't had any since. I was just about to buy 100 shares of Apple at 59, but then it skyrocketed to 70 almost the very next day. I had signed up for eTrade and everything. Sigh. Do you do you any investing?

Mmmmmmmmmm, somewhat... I do test trading. Like on different sites. I'm feeling like starting an investment challenge on the site I use and gives a winner award of maybe $25-$50... call it the NetBusinessTalk Investment Challenge. Either way, I still need to practice much more before I invest, plus, I don't really make enough money right now.

On the topic of investing, has anybody ever put their business into the stock market (who are members here of course.) I thought a couple times of it, but it sounds so much of a hassle.

I have a stocks/shares account with my local bank. I did have plans to invest, but money matters changed. However I will be in the future.

I've made investments, but never in a stock or a business, that wasn't mine that is. I've invested in my own business and in sneakers (I'll explain that if asked).

I used to have shares as part of a bonus thing at work, but sold them all when I lost my job to get some money to tide me over.

Since then I've not had the funds to invest again.

I tried a virtual investment site (no real money) and didnt too well, so I dont think I will be risking my money any time soon.

Might of been because it was not real money and I didnt take it as seriously as if it was real, my strategy was to just buy lots of the cheapest shares... they just went even cheaper though.

Keep practicing

When I have quiet months between projects I sometimes mess around on investment sites. If you follow the news and the industries you are choosing to invest in you can do quite well. My problem is that even if I had the money, I wouldn't have the time long term to manage my own investments on a hands on basis. Getting someone else to manage your portfolio would take the fun out of it too.

I do my play trading on Investorpedia. Very good site, just like reality... commissions and all ($20 commissions... ugh, lol)

Anyway, I do good sometimes so I will try maybe this summer with some of the good stocks.
