Selling things other than guides on how to sell things on the internet?
It seems to be that all of these people are getting rich selling the dream to people. No product just selling you a self-perpetuating guide to making money...
Only a lucky few make money online without working at it. But many do well who work at it and stick with it, learning from their mistakes.
Yes, there are a lot of people targeting IM newbies trying to capitalize on their need for information. However, there are also a lot of real ways to succeed if you're willing to put in the effort it takes.

I agree with Kelly. But the reality is, newbies are more likely to spend without giving much thought and so the marketers target them. They are more gullible so they believe that this ebook will reveal how to make a million dollars in the next 5 minutes (or something like that).
It's what sells so I guess its just gonna become a cycle.
But their are some good opportunities out there, that do work.
Good point...but many people do make money, and at many different things. Such things as a well conceived on line store that sells to a particular niche market (such as NASCAR,) Audio Books, wholesalers that resell on eBay. Many of us earn a living with these things. I really believe that the secrets to success aren't secret. You just have to start with 1) something you love to do (What you are really interested in off the 'net,) and don't over spend your flow of income. That is probably the biggest killer of newbies, spending too fast and creating a negative cash flow. That is the one thing that will kill any business in a hurry!
I have learned from my mistakes and am now making money. So yes people can make money. It's a long term process, so if your hope is quick easy money you need to go somewhere else.
Definitely you have to work at it. Some people might discover a hidden gem and get really lucky, but there's no substitute for hard work.
If you put a good amount of effort into something, you'll being to see returns. You can be an internet marketer without exploiting other people. We get a bum rap sometimes
