Default Internation Orders question

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum so forgive me if this is not the right place to ask this question. I have had a website for 3 years now-internet business. I sell custom made knives for a knife maker. My question is has anybody had internation orders and if so what is the best payment and shipping procedure. I have my first international order today from Singapore and customer wants items shipped to brother in Indonesia. Payment is my creditcard thru paypal and I ship using global express priority mail. I know there are alot of honest people out there, but unfortunately there are scammers as well. For US orders payment by cc go out next business day and I've never had a problem. Should I hold these items for Singapore 10 bus.days to make sure cc isn't stolen and risk losing the sale or ship if cc goes thru Paypal ok? I know may sound like silly question, but I've talked to different people and answers vary-some say most cases people are honest and they've never had a problem and other people say don't cause too many scrams from certain countries. Advice is appreciated

I'm assuming you mean Intentional Orders. I would play on the cautious side of things and have them pay through PayPal or through Credit Card and wait for the payment to go through. Don't simply receive the payment and then send the items. It's important when doing business over seas that you protect yourself first.

Just say it'll take 2-3 weeks for shipping and whatever else. If you're shipping to Singapore that's a believable time. In which time funds will have cleared and all should be okay.

Smile Re: International Orders question

Our business does about 30-40 international orders a month. We mostly sell components used to make jewelry and most thieves don't want components because they can't sell them. The thieves do want items that they can sell like gold and silver chain. For items like jewelry chain that can be easily sold, I suggest that you only accept payment by Western Union. The costs of Western Union may dissuade some legitimate customers so that is the down side. The up side is you will never have theft.
