Default Logo vs. Text Image

What is your view on this? Logos perform the same function as a text image; they probably go one step further in creating your business into a brand. Are logos necessary, or should one stick to a simple text image?

Logos are very necessary. Your brand is very important.

Having a logo gives you your "brandable identity" as some would say. I'd say have a logo made is best because just having the basic old text image can be kind of boring, not that I am trying to degrade it, just can be. Hope I've helped.

Yeah, I've been leaning towards a logo myself, but I never really gave thought as to just how important a logo is. I've always seen logos as a nice addition to a business.

They are really nice first off to me, gives your site an ACTUAL image... so basically I'd choose logo image before text image. Kind of expensive but well worth it, http://www.logoworks.com and http://www.brandableidentity.com is 2 places to get you started.

Thanks for the links! I'm a webdesigner myself, but I haven't really attempted to make professional, high quality logos. I haven't developed the creativity for it yet. Hopefully, someday I will.

Can I see some samples of your work, I need a nice logo and template layout. If you could do me one nicely, I'll gladly pay for it.

Ok, my 2 cents. I think logos are important , but it still depends on what you are putting it on. If its your signage and the logo is confusing...it might not be the best way to go. I dropped a logo sometime ago, because I didnt like it. We use a font design ..but its too fancy for some uses. I wish I knew then what I know now.

If your logo consist solely of a unique font that can be displayed in most Web browsers, keep it as text. This increases the SEO of your Website.
