Default Small Business Insurance

For all of the members out their who are brick-and-mortar business handlers, this one is mainly directed for you. Do you have business insurance?

I just want to take a small poll for one reason. As my blog tells the story (which the **** thing is down again from 3-6pm for the THIRD straight day in a row, me and my host will talk ASAP) that we had a big flood the other day... many businesses were effected and now with FEMA stepping in for us... and business and residents both share equal speaking rights at the meeting tomorrow night (and I plan to attend to see complaints and such) --- many of the businesses did NOT have flood insurance. Makes me question if they have any insurance.

What kind of insurance do you have for your business? Or what kind of insurance would be recommend (question for everyone?)

For my online audio business one year of liability insurance costed $350 for the year. It covered $2,000,000.

Well $350.00 doesn't seem that bad...and it does cover quite a good sum of money, it does sound like a good deal.

Yeah... I'm still in love with the option that it covers up to $2,000,000 for just $350 a year.... come on Ryan, share with me where you got this at.

It is my dads insurance guy. It's just some local company, called I think Whitman and Hawkes. I can ask him tonight if ya want. Since mine was such a low risk business it was pretty cheap.

Most insurance policies do not include flood insurance. Just because one does not have flood insurance, certainly would not lead me to believe that they don't have any insurance.

Trust me, around here, you have insurance means you have flood insurance. Many didn't have flood insurance, in other words... they didn't have any insurance at all.
