Step 1) Find your niche market first, before you decide what to sell
Having a product is good, if the people are not looking out for that product, will it sell? Rather look out for what the people are looking for and find out the product which serves there needs. The group of people who are looking for a solution to a particular problem, we call them the niche market.
Step 2) Write compelling salescopy that attracts your visitors
Without doubt, the way you write plays a key role in how your website perform. Many people are not confident about writing - you have to remember writing is not a art, rather its science. If you employ serious of steps, you can certainly succeed. Think like a customer - emphasize on the benefits rather than the features - what's the difference: features inform whereas the benefits sells
Step 3) Design a winning site
Have your salescopy and the business system ready before you start designing your website. That way, your site design facilitates the sales process. The key would be to keep things SIMPLE. Use a simple plain background, avoid flashy stuff which more often distracts the viewers attention, have san-serif fonts (don't use special-fonts), have a professional and simple layouts
Step 4) Focus on generating traffic
There are so many great websites in the internet, yet very few see those websites. Why? Because they are not focusing on the traffic generation techniques. Which one sells better - a great show room with no visitors or an ordinary shop with tons of visitors. Bringing traffic to your site determines how successful your site going to be. There are hundreds of ways through which you can bring traffic to your site. The ones which gives the greatest results are
- Traffic through search engines.
- Free sources of traffic such as ezine articles, viral reports, email marketing, ...
- Build your backlinks by posting in the forums, community sites, blogs, ...
There are several other methods which you can use to bring traffic to your site.
Step 5) Be in touch with your visitors
Its important that you be in touch with your visitors and the best way to do it is to make effective use of email marketing. There are people who say email marketing is dead, but see even if only 2% bother to view your mails - it still is a means of generating traffic right. What's more its cheap, it works and if you can build good relationship with your visitors you will be driving more traffic as more and more read your mails.
Step 6) Make use of affiliate programs
One you have a profitable business, you should look for new ways to grow it. One of the best ways to build your business is to launch your own affiliate programs. Affiliate are people who promote your product and every time they send you a buyer you pay them commission. With affiliate program, you can increase your income exponentially. You pay commission to your affiliate only after the sale is made.
