Avix, I'm surprised Softlayer let you down! I'm sure they're making it up though. They have been nothing but a pleasure for me. I believe I'm on my 3rd months with them?

I'm hosted with HostGator. I know they are expensive, and I've found many competitors with much lower prices...but I've been hosted with them for nearly six months now that all my data, all my sites are on there. It'd be such a hassle to move them to something new.

So, I just swallow the bill, and I just pay it each and every month. It's a bit of a pain, but I do love the service and the fact that I can reach them almost 24/7 any day of the week.

well, I host my own site on vps account. Still working hard to made more money to support and upgrade it to dedicated server. I believe making one step at a time before making the great jump into owning my dedi. Currently, I am not making enough even to cover the small vps account...emm, got to work much harder.
