Default What have you learned the most?

During your days, months, or years of doing Internet business, what has been the one thing that you've learned the most about? For me it would have to be how to market a website after it's online. I haven't done as great a job yet as I plan to with NBT. (But, a lot more is coming soon.) However, on the whole I've become rather good at establishing a website's presence quite quickly after it's opened. So, it's marketing for me. What's it for you?

You get what you pay for.

Don't always go for the 'budget' option. Hiring a professional with experience and a good portfolio is usually a much better choice.

Note : Usually, not always, sometimes you can hire a cheap service, which will still be professionally done.

I've definitely learned that lesson. That's one of the reason why I spend so much money on web development. I've found people that I can trust to deliver, which in itself is worth more money. It allows me to focus on other aspects of growing/developing the business rather than being worried that the web design or backend coding will not come out correctly.

Yes I can tell.

You used www.vBulletinSkinz.com as well didn't you

They are renowned for being the best at vB skins, I could tell before I went there, then I saw your site in their portfolio!

Yep, Sheldon did a great job.

After working on the Internet, I have learned to work smart not hard. That's a rule everyone should follow. Don't stress yourself about a large workload, spread it out overtime and make sure you are working efficiently.

I agree with most people that you get what you pay for is a really important thing that I have learned.

Maybe the other thing that I've learned is to market your product. People don't just come to you.
