What single online marketing method have you personally found most effective?

Especially in advertising work from home opportunities, what works for you?

The most profitable is to use an auto-responder service like aweber and gather a list relating to your industry. You can then market products on the back end of your business as well.

Aside from that, I'm partial to free methods such as article marketing and Squidoo, etc. These are great ways to generate targeted traffic.

Google adwords isn't bad. You just have to do the proper keyword research so you're not bidding on keywords with ridiculous competition.

For my online business it has been word of mouth, this has worked great. Also signature placement on forums, e-mail, etc....has worked great too.

My top 5 favorite:

1. SEO
2. PPC AdWords
3. EMail Marketing
4. Articles
5. Link Exchanges

I believe these 5 to be the BEST methods of marketing if you ask me. SEO was first because that's the main source many "non-savvy" computer users will use to find websites. PPC AdWords because the results show up on the relevant websites and get you targeted traffic. EMail Marketing is third because if you can find bulk lists for sale you can use these to promote the site's. Next would be the easiest of them all, Articles, since its the easiest method and the FREE method of advertising. Link exchanges would be last and its quite simple, find relevant sites and go from there, Link Exchange.

Adwords is old and worn out. Technology is bringing in better stuff that pays many times better. Adwords may be here to stay but they are no longer the only cafe in town.
