Default Working 9 till 5

I'm just wondering whether anybody actually does this. Do you spend most of the day working on your website and clients or do you only do a few hours a day etc.

I've never really done this and do actually only do a few hours a day. But I think I'll change that up and regard internet work as my full time job (i'm currently unemployed).

I have a lot of work to do this week, which I could end up doing in one or two days rather than a full week if I only put in a few hours in.

You'll get more work done, you'll get more clients in, you'll increase profit, being able to work to a far better timeline you'll boost repuation too in my opinion.

What does everybody else think?

I don't. My business isn't a full time business, I'm doing it on the side. I'm hoping to create a large enough income so that when I'm ready, I can move to it as a full time job.

If you work for yourself, it's always important to manage your time but I don't believe setting up a 9-5 time frame is necessary. After all, most of us are trying to escape that horror .

Hehe escaping it is true. But I think it depends on the workload you have. And for me, being unemployed for the next 1-2 weeks most likely this is my only means of income so managing my time in this way will better myself.

That's definitely true but you must remember, it doesn't matter how much time you put into it if you aren't working hard and efficiently. Work smart, not hard.

I tend to work during the hours I feel like working and don't during the hours I don't feel like working. However, I have technical support ticket and sales support tickets that I deal with during all waking hours, but I don't constitute those as work. I tend to do my major "thinking" and "work" during the late-morning/early-afternoon and the mid-late evening. No 9-5 for me!

I am self employed full time so I can't just work a few hours a day. But I also don't have set work hours. I work when I am motivated to work, when I can be at my best. If that happens to be at 3 in the morning, then 3 in the morning it is.

I started at 9pm today. It's now 3pm and this is pretty much my first break. I've finished one piece of client work, and just about finished on the other. It's working pretty well!

That's good. I think it makes a bit more sense for a web designer to work 9 to 5 as opposed to someone who is running a content/service based business. A web designer has specific projects that they can sense actual timeframes for completing.

I attend college most of the day, and spend the rest of my time down the pub. I only really use the computer later in the day between college and pub.

9-5.. whats that?

I work 7am-10pm most days.. Monday to Friday that is.
I dont work on weekends, I believe in time out.

9-5 would actually be a really short day :P
