Default Google to be human edited?

Do you know that Google has been hiring the people who help to refine searches? I was suprised to find out they do it.

google is actually pretty smart, that feature is pretty fun and many people participate in it for fun, since it is competitive.

I imagine it will have to be only for select sites. The manpower needs to manually check every site in their directory would be impossible. It would have to be just to try to take out spammers and make it not worth their while.
