They're not at all accurate which is annoying as there are so many of them out there.
No one knows what Google is planning though so it figures that they would never be correct.

I doubt it as they're trying to keep their PageRank algorithm as secret as possible. Also, I think they believe that webmasters working toward PR are not building their website in the correct way.

These are officials as they get, they query the different Google datacenters.

Personally PR does not really interest me, its relevence to SERP's has declined to the point thats its almost useless. Its more an ego thing I find, wanting to have a green bar that is bigger than someone elses

PR is so easily manipulated that it is very easy (with the right legitimate techniques) to get a high PR ranking site almost as soon as the first update. Let alone using the underhand techniques!!

As for the PR predictors, don't bother tbh they are usually based on outdated algorithms because Google uses a base formula and then adds various 'factors' to it. Just take a read of matt cutts blog and do some in depth reading into the 'bigdaddy' infrastructure updates to three of the datacenters..some interesting developments there.

I'm still not seeing any changes.

I would have thought that PR would be a black and white change. Ie it would just happen.

But it seems to be a very gradual process.
Why is that?

Appart from Google staff no one knows exactly how Google works... so unless some hacker manages to steal all the google secrets it is unlikely we will ever know.

Apparently Google has started updating its pagerank today so sites should start seeing changes to their pagerank soon.
