I'm happy with our PPC campaign too, we've gone for the long tail approach and targeted very specific visitors/keywords instead of going for the broad matching keywords. We seem to catch people right at the end of the buying cycle with that approach. We're currently redesigning our site but when it's done we'll be able to see our ROI on our PPC and will be able judge our spend on this a bit better, currently we only use about £100 mth on PPC but I'm sure this will rise quite a bit.

That is great that you see positive results from PPC. I actually have never used this option. Thus far I have never had a need to do so. However, if I ever do I will consider trying PPC since so many people do seem to get results.

Interesting. I'm on the advertiser side myself and am glad this is getting results for people who purchase services like those I offer.

I have stopped using PPC to promote my site, and I don't think there has been any decrease in traffic. So to be honest I don't think it made that much difference anyway.

Most of my business is through word of mouth and from previous clients, which keeps us ticking along very well.

It really depends on the type of business that you have. Certain sites get better results marketing in certain ways that might not work for another, different-themed site.

I have seen some great results from PPC engines. I get the best conversion rates from Yahoo.

I haven't used much PPC but what little I have, I've seen no real results. Maybe my business just isn't well suited to internet marketing.

May I ask what industry you are in? Why don't you think works for you?

I think to start with one should try out PPC campaigns. And after generating a good result then if you want you can reconsider your decision and stop PPC.
