Hmmm, so that's why I have heard that sites like MySpace, and now Squidoo (are they more or less the same?) have been helpful in promoting traffic of some websites.

Thanks for the info

If you want to get into this field of web 2.0 traffic through organic traffic start off with Squidoo, the interface is very easy to cooperate with plus Google loves it, whenever you get new information posted up Google will be the first one to send spiders and index your site . It's really working for people who are consistent with it, their articles are in the top 5 links most likely with their keywords and they are getting targeted traffic at an insane amount. It won't be an overnight thing but maybe you can be the first Squidoo guru marketer out there, it's extremely possible

How do you make your sites popular?

I have learned that inbound links promote a site very well. The more inbound links you have with related sites having high PRs, the better.

Is there another way to boost link popularity?
Have you heard about blogs? These are now being used to increase link popularity. There are many programs now that have thousands of bloggers ready to write a blog with your specified number of links. It can be very expensive but the links are almost permanent.

My favorite way to get links (but the most time-consuming) is to simply have the best site on the Internet in your specific niche. Interestingly enough, if your site is well written, provides tons of useful information and is constantly updated, you often won't have to seek out links at all. Other sites will link to yours of their own volition.

This has worked for me on my HighRankings.com site for many years. Without actively requesting any links (other than a few major directories), hundreds of highly relevant sites have added HighRankings.com to their list of recommended sites related to SEO. Some people link to my home page, others to the main newsletter page, and still others to my forum. Some will link directly to an article or newsletter they've enjoyed, and some will ask if they can republish some on their site, while also including a link.

This is the ideal, and not every site is going to have the time or inclination to get to this stage. However, I firmly believe that any kind of site in any **** of business can use this method if they are willing to work at it. I know of no other method that can even bring links from direct competitors! Personally, I'd rather spend my time creating a link-worthy site than sending out repetitive reciprocal link exchange requests...but maybe that's just me!

Your homework for this week is to think about how you can make your site so good that others will be only too willing to link to it -- without your even having to ask for it. If you can figure it out and actually spend the time implementing the strategy, eventually you won't have to worry about link popularity, reciprocal links or PageRank ever again!

There is no more than I can explain about it because it's that simple . Just try it out and you'll find out how effective these two methods work with SEO.
Very well said, Jaggiegill... thanks very much. I have learned a lot from what you have posted in this thread and still looking forward for more of your very informative and relevant posts. It pays to have an expert in this forum.

I agree.

The truth is, there is a hidden secret and it's called Back Links. High quality, niche related one way backlinks from websites with good Page Rank and trusted by Google, Yahoo and MSN.

Do you know what it takes to grab the top rankings for your product, site or niche?

1. More QUALITY BACKLINKS than your top ranked competitors and of course
2. The best niche content in the world.

Take the main keyword (your niche keyword) from your site and do a search in Google... now grab the top three sites and check there link popularity or backlinks; Now just beat what they have and you'll find yourself on top.

I appreciate the information and I agree with aquarincore, content is the number 1 most important thing, it takes a lot of hard work and if your only interested in the easy buck then you should do something else.

Well this is good point and I think we should use tarffic exchangers to make sit rank more higher. If we have good content, people will be back to visit our site. So Content is the king for me. Squidoo is one of the best to make our site more popular.

Squidoo is very different from Myspace. You would need to look at the site to see the difference. Squidoo allows a wider range of activities that include business advertising where Myspace fights to remain social only, as far as I can tell..
