Default Listed in DMOZ

How difficult to listed in DMOZ?

I heard that listed in DMOZ is still very difficult due to a variety of reasons including a huge shortage of editors.

Can anyone one tell me more about listing in DMOZ?

Sorry rohitpatel, my idea of DMOZ is that it is the one where you apply to be included in Alexa search engine, am I right?

I have tried listing my site in dmoz and yes, they are really in need of editors and because of this, they can't update their directory promptly and maybe this is what Rohitpatel means.

Dmoz is a just another way to generate a backlink your site. It is not worth the effort , you will be better off doing something like advertising in forum exchanges, or article marketing to get some links out on the search engines and different websites.

I tried to list there and it was ludcrious. Apparently, DMoZ is a resurrected search engine that failed and is trying to make a comeback.

I have never been listed in Dmoz. But it has never seemed to hurt my business website any.

I was after the backlink that's why I made several attempts in the past to have my sites listed. However, my efforts were all in vain. I even voluntered myself as editor. I ended up listing my sites in other directories.

I agree. There are more powerful options around. I really feel that DMOZ is outdated.
