Re: Is PR Really Important? PR is just one of the factors the Google algorithm takes into account when ranking a page for a keyword. It's more accurate to say that PR is a reflection of the importance of a page. Meaning that say 5 pages link to Page XYZ, the PR's of all the 5 pages are taken into account while helping decide the ranking of Page XYZ.
What does that mean practically speaking? You should try to get incoming links to your site/pages from high PR pages, rather than focus on trying to increase your own PR. Your own PR will go up anyway, if you follow the basics - Add new pages regularly, relevant metatags, don't play tricks, exchange links or link only to sites which are relevant to your topic/pages.
Course, this is not professional advice. Just my personal experience and opinion. |
