Default Sell the right thing

If you're trying to sell something that lots of other people are also trying to sell, you're facing competition two ways; first, it's going to be a lot harder to get noticed on the search engines, and second, the competition is going to eat away at the profits.
The real secret to making money on the net is to sell something that nobody else is selling. Even if the market is tiny and obscure, if you're the only maker, the net will bring you and your customers together. If you sell cowboy boots, you might have problems getting noticed, but if you specialize in cowboy boots for people with six toes, you'll make money.

Hey! Who told you about my six toes?? JK Anywho, that's a good point. It is already hard to start a business, and even harder if the business is a cliche.

That is a good point. It is much easier to dominate a small niche than a big one. Of course, I think its important to sell something you enjoy and believe in, but if you can find a tiny niche to fill while doing it - excellent.

That just goes along with being happy with what you are doing. There are people who want their business to be the best it can be, and to be an expert at serving that niche. Then there are people who want to sell everything to everyone so they can make the most money. What's that saying... jack of all trades, master of none? I think a lot of the big chain stores (I can think of one in particular) that sells just about everything for pretty cheap, and they do well because of this, but they have a terrible reputation for customer service and employee relations. So when they can no longer meet the bottom line and price out their competition, what do they have left?

I guess it take a lot planning and thought when it comes to picking something to market that someone else is not selling online. It seems that everyone has snatched up most of the ideas but I'm sure theres room for anything new. Alto of people success comes from hobbies and then turn it into a business.

Yes, it's very important to sell the right thing on eBay. There's a lot of competition with products. So it's important to research the products that you want to sell on eBay.

The bottom line is to choose your product first and it needs some planning and observation and also some effort to find out the correct one and then start the next process. Rest will fall in line only the first step is very important.

You need to choose a product for which there is a real need. There are many competitors in some fields - do you want to compete with a lower price or better service? Or can you offer something new?

I don't know that I would want to have a storefront on Ebay, unless it was for crafts or something. Unless they are actually putting their products in auctions so you have a chance to get a deal - I don't really find anything much cheaper than I could get it somewhere else.
