Default Fireworks vs Photoshop

I have used both programs. In my opinion, Fireworks doesn't even stand near to close to Photoshop. Photoshop has so many more filters and features that is stomps Fireworks. Does anyone else agree with me?

I have not used Fireworks, I have used Photoshop and GIMP. Photoshop is considered as a total graphics solution by many while GIMP is also being considered as a very useful solution.

Then what should we consider Fireworks? It's def does not stand up to Photoshop. Well, at least for now since Photoshop and Fireworks are now together.

I use fireworks for the most part because I have been for years. I don't really need all those filters photoshop has most of the time.

I have never heard of Fireworks before , but all I know is that Photoshop is a really really neat piece of software that everyone needs to try out. But the problem is that it takes forever to download the trial version and is over $500 to buy. Nevertheless Fireworks doesn't stand a chance against Adobe's Photoshop. Can someone explain more about GIMP and how it compares. I'm not a graphic dude but do fiddle on these application softwares once in a while.

I wouldn't be surprised if fireworks is either discontinued or because something else.

I use Photoshop for most of my use and I found it better than Fireworks. This is my view because Fireworks is not good for me.

For the most part, I make web designs using Photoshop and Dreamweaver as well. Maybe one day I can find the stamina to learn Flash... then start making some REAL interactive websites.
