I really some of your designs. Very nice colour combination, shadows and gradients.

I'm glad someone recommended an alternative to Photoshop. One of my hobbies is editing scanlations of manga, non us licensed stuff. I use exactly clone, erase, bright contrast, level, textboxes and sometimes I have to redraw a line here or there. Photoshop takes up way to much memory since that's all I'm using it for. If this will work instead and take up less ram I'm all for trying it out. Please let me know.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I have used it for a bit and I actually like the inteface better than Photoshop's.

As per Gimpshop, it is not the new version of the GIMP, it is actually a version tweaked by someone else to act and look like PS. It is actually one or two versions behind the lates version of GIMP.

Thanks for that clarification. Actually both interfaces are around the same level of user-friendliness. You just get used to the one you use more often.

I couldn't have said it better. I have used tons of different software and when you go from one to the next, it always seems it is too complex, and the other one was easier. Usually this is not the case, is just a matter of getting used to it.

I have used PSP and found it effective even if it seems limiting to others.
Is GIMP compatible with graphics created with Paint Shop Pro?

Gimp is Photoshops wealthy stepbrother for free. The new Gimpshop mimics photoshop.

It actually VERY VERY VERY similar. In fact, it's really really close. Maybe just lacking a few abilities here and there. Other than that it seems to be really good. =)

GIMP is pretty good and as they say, the best things in life are free
But since I have Photoshop and have been using it for yearst, I'd rather stick to Photoshop now.

For simple image editing tasks, Google's Picasa is easy to use. It is a free image editor and an image gallery for all images stored on your hard disk drive.
