| Web 2.0 What does everything think about Web 2.0? There's been so much about Web 2.0 in the past year around the Net that it's almost scary. Examples of Web 2.0 are: Digg, Flickr, Writely, Basecamp, CalendarHub, etc. Basically, Web 2.0 consists of a "social" website where people can "share" information. Do you think that this is just a fad or what? |

| Re: Web 2.0 I think the looks of the websitse are quite appealing: clean, simple, and easy to use. However, I think that they're probably not all going to last very long. I remember reading some place that these websites are easy to start, but hard to maintain when they get big. I know that Digg had some problems with this, but were able to get through them. |

| Re: Web 2.0 I'm surprised that you guys think that Web 2.0 websites are ugly. I love the simplicity and cleanliness of websites such as Newsvine (recently launched March 1st, 2006). I don't see any objections to them. They're cleanly laid out, the information is easy to find, and the colors are subtle yet appealing. |

I dont like the sites that just have huge text and a few background colours. Look like something I would of made several years ago when learning html. |

I think use of "white" space and simplistic layout is coming back ( is back) in a big way. People are getting away from over use of color, small categories and essentially too much organization. When people go to most sites, they want to see what they're looking for, and they want to see it quick. Color and groups of things tend to slow the eye down from the real content. |

I agree mostly because not only am I seeing this change amongst the design elite, but I also feel this way myself. I've been doing a lot of reading up on recent interface design and "less is more" is becoming more and more prevalent during the past six months. |
