Website Designers

I am not 100% sure if this is counted as a suggestion forum or an Hiring topic, but I am going to ask anyway.

Can somebody please recommend me some good website designer (custom designers preferrably) that can design sleek design, sort of like ForumShock.com or Blind-Fate.com or GotSkinned.com *Chris's designing portfolio, I like it but he only does vBulletin skins.*

I am looking for someone in the price range of $150-$300 preferrably and can do a free mockup. I'd also like the design to be exclusive/unique (I'd be willing to pay a little more for this right.)

The site design will of course be for my urban apparel store so it needs to be a little more fashion mosaic. Looking for a designer I can stay in contact with so I can get more designs done in the future.

So now you have the basics, can anybody SUGGEST me some designers that can do a sleek design (I am admired by gradient and smooth looking designs... but since its a fashion site, not TOO graphical.) Please help me

I have dealt with Anthony, who happens to be a Mentor here, recently. He's a good guy and a great designer. The designs you listed above are all glossy designs, something that Anthony does quite well.

If that doesn't work out, you can try and track down the designers that designed those example websites.

Thanks... I tried to get in contact with Bryan Le about who did his site design because its really nicely done, but never response from him or the other couple people, its all good though, I'll check Anthony out. Thanks Max.

Hmmmmmmm, alright, so here's another question. I know how to use Photoshop and code HTML, the only thing is that I can't never plan a good idea.

So the question is: How can I get a visual or plan out a site design like the professionals do?

That has to do with your creative skill. It is helpful if you have a creative/artistic background.

Of course you can study usability and UI design - but that will only help you so far.

I have creativity, I just can't get a good visual of a template... everytime I try to actually DESIGN it, I start thinking, DANG this is terrible and so on so I end up giving up on the template. So in other words, I can't really get that far.

I'll study up on UI design though, got any tip or book sites I can check out for that
