The general concensus seems to be that audio isn't too popular. I personally dislike it because I sometimes play mp3s while surfing and automatic playing of audio is so annoying.
I use Firefox and if you go to the link below you can download extensions that allow you to stop audio and video playing on specific sites:
I personally do not like websites to have music. Either I am watching something while surfing or listening to my own music and I always end up trying to stop it anyway. Keep music off!
Nothing is more annoying than surfing on the sly (e.g., during a boring meeting) and all of a sudden having "The Wind Beneath My Wings" or some other song or noise burst out from my computer. If you must have music on your site, please make it optional.
