I place a lot of value in speed, ease of navigation, working in Opera (the number of sites that still only work well in IE infuriates me), and content.

I'll stick at a horribly designed site with good content, but ONLY if I can't find that content anywhere else at all.

I like simple layouts with more css than images. I only like flash on websites if they are done right. If you cannot figure out how to move around in the flash its annoying and would cause me to leave the site.

The template, the organization of the content, and the navigation attract me the most. If my first impression is positive, then I'll continue browsing the site.

I don't like unorganized sites with unattractive templates. They irk me.

What keeps me attracted to a website is bright/clean colors and professional looking for the what the website is trying to attract. Like if its a gaming website u might see some more dark colors etc.. a professional webhosting website silvers, blacks, blues etc its all about the layout and how well the navigation is.

Ha ha, I thought it was just me who does that.

Content first - Some of my favorite sites aren't anything special design wise but the content keeps me coming back for more.

Design - If the site's well designed then thats ok, but if the content sucks I probably won't be back, but if it has great content and design thats a winner in my books.

I believe that modest designs with clean user interfaces keep me buying. Stupid flash intros immediately send me away. If I see a website, (salesforce.com) with flash in the center, I'll take the time to load and watch the video, given that it's custom made and not from template.

The problem with websites like microsoft and salesforce and oracle is that their content is excessive, small, hard to read, and doesn't describe what they're trying to sell direct enough. They use abbreviations for their main products, which often send consumers away.

Lets say my parents, (both of which are in fashion) were looking for windows xp. They stumble across random brand company (lets call them microsoft) and sees the abbreviation O.S. , CRM, ERP, SAP, and have no idea where to start? PAIN PAIN PAIN.

Invest in your design thoroughly. It can almost make or break your business.

I look for sites that are informative and include a great deal of information in a tactful way. The site should be professional while still having nice asthetics.
