Re: What attracts you to a website? I believe that modest designs with clean user interfaces keep me buying. Stupid flash intros immediately send me away. If I see a website, (salesforce.com) with flash in the center, I'll take the time to load and watch the video, given that it's custom made and not from template.
The problem with websites like microsoft and salesforce and oracle is that their content is excessive, small, hard to read, and doesn't describe what they're trying to sell direct enough. They use abbreviations for their main products, which often send consumers away.
Lets say my parents, (both of which are in fashion) were looking for windows xp. They stumble across random brand company (lets call them microsoft) and sees the abbreviation O.S. , CRM, ERP, SAP, and have no idea where to start? PAIN PAIN PAIN.
Invest in your design thoroughly. It can almost make or break your business. |
