That's so true. I think a really complicated domain might show up more on search results but simple and unique names are much easier to remember.

I think either will do the job as long as you market your products and create a little buzz yourself. But when using a catchy name you may end up getting people to your site who have no interest in the product you sell.

I use my company name for the face value in branding.

I feel it is better to have a name which reflects the business also. Meaningful name of the domain helps in creating a reputation for the site.

I agree for the most part with arppt. I mean, even the biggies like Google and Yahoo have something to do with their business. A google results from searching and Yahoo - look at all this stuff I can do. LOL

I'm going with the idea of using my company name for my website. I think it makes it easier for people to find you that way - especially if you have something like an online catalogue that regular customers might need to access. "KISS" is probably a good rule of thumb for domain names.

Yes, simple is good. Also, in most cases, the shorter you can get it, the better off you will be. We originally used our full business name for our domain name, but found that some people had trouble spelling it (including the business owner LOL!), so we switched to the business initials instead (from 19 letters down to 5). We've had much better results with the shorter URL.
