Default Word for a website?

I have heard that you can design a site by using MS Word.

How can this be done and uploaded?

Technically, you could design a website in Notepad using html and then uploading the site. If you're serious about developing a site though, there are a lot of free html editors that will make the task a lot easier. A Google search will bring up a lot to choose from.

You can do it in Word by saving it as HTML. I wouldn't recommend it though - it's very time consuming to do things in word that require images.

As Word is a WYSISYG editor you can design your basic webpage in Word also. Just save the desing as HTML because word supports HTML.

Technically you can, but any seasoned coders will tell you it's not good and if you want to write HTML just use notepad or a HTML editor. MS word automatically formats your code, resulting in errors sometimes.

I have checked the site and seems that it is a very good tutorial.

Thanks, jaggie!

MS Word will actually place its own formatting code inside your html. Some say that could negatively affect your search engine rankings, but I doubt it.

I have a friend that never uses a web authoring program. He sits down and designs sites in notepad. He just has great vision and does cutting edge design. What's embarrassing is how easily he does this.
