| Outsourcing or inhouse Hi,
I was wondering what people do on here when it comes to not been able to code something for there website.
Do you just learn how to do it, or do you outsource it or do you have inhouse coders who do the work for you? |

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse If I dont have the time or the necessary skills to code a particular project I usually outsource to a few other companies I am partnered with. |

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse I hire coders/designers. I'm a fairly decent coder but I'd rather leave it to the professionals.

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse I try to learn to do it myself if I have the time. I have had a lot of problems with recruiting from various forums to get work done, then not seeing it done on time. I prefer to avoid that risk now.
If it is something I definitely can't do, I seek advice from the people I get my hosting with - they charge a lot for work, but they are very reliable. |

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse I would suggest that you learn how to do it as well as outsource. Outsourcing can be very convenient if you find the right people to do the job. |

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse I run a webdesigning company and outsourcing is probably one of the things that has helped me continue to run the company with ease. However, since I own the company, everything runs through me before it is sent to the client. So, I do know a bit of everything just so I can look over it before sending it out. However, the people that I outsource to are people I can trust. Yeah. Those are my two cents. |

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse I use myself because I am basically fluent in xhtml/css by w3c standards.
But if this is backend, I hire someone else. |

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse I do it myself, if there's something I need that I can't do I learn it. There are plenty books, and freely available tutorials of great quality to learn anything you need. It's just going to burn time if you have to sift through code you only half understand to make sure it's good before handing it off to a client. Besides doing the coding yourself is the only way to make sure someone else's sloppy coding dosen't make you look stupid...of course you still have to make sure your own coding dosen't make you look stupid

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse About 5 years ago I made a decision to outsource my programming jobs to people instead of coding it myself. The coding just took too long for me to do as well as focus on the business aspects of my websites. It's been one of the better decisions I've ever made, however, there are sometimes small jobs that I wish I could do. I do know XHTML, CSS, and some PHP, but I'm not great at any of them. |

| Re: Outsourcing or inhouse It really depends on how much control I wish to have; if it's something that I really want, but couldn't care less "how" it's made, then I'll look around; if it's something I hold dear, I'll look into learning it. |
