I'm not sure about software (you could try googling "stills from video") but we used to have a piece of hardware called the ZipShot that plugged up between a VCR or video camera and your computer that would do what you're wanting to do.
*I* would likely use a screenshot in my graphics program.
An easier and faster way to get a still image from a video would be to use the trusty old print screen button on your keyboard. It should be beside F12. When you want to capture a certain image press the print screen button, then go to Microsoft paint and paste the image on to there . You should get an image of the whole screen so crop as necessary. Voila a non-techie way to get a nice still picture from a video!
That's great! Thanks for the idea jaggie. This will be good for personal use but I wonder if there is an easier and quicker way to do this, perhaps a software to use? Well, at least, I have an idea on how to do it on my own, thanks again jaggiegill!
I use a program called Capture Express (just Google it). It's free (ad supported) and will allow you to capture various parts of the screen, including stills from videos.
Your saying this in almost any post, if you are going to say something in this forum contribute valuable information, stop writing posts just because you want your sig file to get out there , it's a good thing you joined because you have a lot to learn about marketing from the looks of it.
Any editing software worth its salt should allow you to export a bitmap file (or similar) of any frame of a video. In adobe premiere pro 2, its very easily achieved by hitting, File, Export, Frame. Simple!
