Sometimes you can learn quite a lot by using the Code/Design view in Dreamweaver. So have it half/half. So that you can design it how you like and also see how some of the code works.

Further to that I use lots of Reference sites such as:
www.htmldog.com
www.w3schools.com

Just to name a few.

The first site I ever did was on a free sitebuilder service like tripod or something.

Then someone let me borrow some folders about html from a course they did.

Then over the last several years books, tutorial sites, and experience I guess.

So in answer to the actual question, I dont think there is a one-stop solution... I am always learning new things and will never know everything.

A good beginners book is probably the first step for learning any type of coding. Then set yourself a project to do, and as you require previously uncovered topics read up about it online.
