Default Do you have SSL certificate for your own ecommerce site?

Higuys and gals,
Ok I wonder if you do actually purchse and install your own SSL certificate for your ecommerce site? or you would rather use the share SSL available via your host/data center?

Does having your own SSL certificate makes your customers feel more secure? Or it wouldn't matter at all?

I'd recommend myself a purchased one. One that is more expensive but really reliable is an SSL certificate with SGC Encryptography I think they call it.

VeriSign and a couple other places offer these for like $400 a year (or maybe its 4 years.) Research it up on Google and you'll get the results about them.

Heh, I prefer to just use other payment processors.

But don't you believe it to be much more professional to have people pay using a credit/debit card or eCheck without having to leave the site. I believe so, but we of course have 2 different opinions.

Ya I believe it's more professional, but how difficult is it to setup something like 2checkout on your site? I've never tried them before.

2checkout is pretty simple. For retail sites, many people use OScheckout (free) and build their paypal/2checkout/authorize/google merchant accounts into the system.

If payment is through a custom made system on your website, you'll probably have the money needed to invest into a real SSL certificate
