Default Do you pay a lawyer?

I was just wondering if anyone here pays a lawyer? If so, did you find that the lawyer knew a lot about internet business or not? Did you get a special lawyer that dealt with this kind of thing? Some of my family friends are lawyers, but they all really don't do internet stuff, and I need someone that can. I just don't know how to find a lawyer like that.

I've never paid a lawyer yet as most of my businesses have been pretty small. I have needed some legal advice which I used score.org for and asked one of their internet lawyers.

I have never had a lawyer. I guess that is a good thing.
I have no need for one and hopefully never will.

They are so expensive so should only be used if you REALLY need one.

I haven't paid a lawyer yet but many people say it is a good idea to have a lawyer look over things from time to time for someone running a business. This is a good way to protect yourself and your business.

I use a company where I pay a monthly fee to have an attorney on retainer whenever I need one. It cuts out the hourly fee.

To be honest - I haven't paid for a lawyer yet. I've been doing everything on my own and hopefully - knock on wood - nothing's been brought to my attention that needed legal help.

It also helps to have a family lawyer - but she isn't to educated with internet business.

I'm sure there are lawyers out there that are internet specialists...

I do pay a lawyer. I have a lawyer that works with me on all of my business for contracts, filing with the state, terms of service, privacy policies, acceptable use policies, and so forth. It's nice having a lawyer, because you know that everything is running legitimately. It's great for peace of mind.

I only paid a lawyer when we actually incorporated, to make sure everything was done properly and all the government stuff taken care of. It cost way too much for what they did, but they weren't Internet specialists or anything. I don't know if you need Internet saavy laywers for basic business stuff, but if you get embroiled in something that involves your online activity, that's a different matter.

Only used the lawyer when we had to. I used to work in a law office, so I knew a fair amount of stuff on my own anyway, but we had to have some dude with the degree to sign and witness stuff.
