Man gets nine years for spamming

A man has been sentenced to nine years in jail by a Virginia judge for sending millions of junk emails, or "spamming". Jeremy Jaynes, 30, is the first person in the US to get a prison term under a spam law. He is said to have been the world's eighth most prolific spammer.

This is what happens to the people who makes a living by spamming and fooling people. Imagine, earning $750,000 for sending mails that offers promises to the people who aso just want to earn for their family and future.

I'm glad someone finally went to prison for spamming. It is really annoying when you must wade through piles of junk to find your email.

Thank god. Not only is it annoying but it is a waste of time. I was wondeirng why my inbox's bulk section has been a bit less bulky. I guess this new law has scared a few people or has gotten more people by now.

It's good to see someone caught in his own web. Every day various people gets affected by spammers. Every day most people get on an average at least 10-20 mails on their account. Authoritie have done a great job to find him.

I still don't get the whole spamming idea. If some of these folks spent a fraction of the time they spend in devising the spamming schemes, they could start their own legitimate business (maybe even catching the spammers).
