Default US Bank Account

I really want to form a company in Delaware which is quite easy, however does anyone know how a non-US resident can get a genuine US bank account?

I have looked into this quite a bit in the past, and it is a big stumbling block because the only way I can find is to actually go and visit a bank there.

After briefly searching, I don't have an answer for how to get a U.S. bank account if you're not a citizen of the U.S. I was also not aware that you could register a company in the United States if you weren't a citizen either. So it's true that you can do this? How?

I think I have found a solution, I hadnt actually researched this for a few months and had almost given up hope.

I just checked back where I was planning on forming the company http://www.thedelawarecompany.com/_nonamerican and they now have a package for opening a bank account, which is new since I asked them about it at the time and they couldnt help.

Quite expensive though just for a bank account, will have to get the calculator out and work out whether it would be worth it.

There are alot of websites claiming to be able to do this for you - unfortunately alot of them are scams.

Why do you need a US bank account?
I do business with the US and I dont live there and I never have a problem receiving payments without a US bank account.

Because I receive quite alot of money from the US, and have no need to bring it into the UK since I have other income streams here.

I am getting taxed for bringing the money into the UK, when I dont really even want it in the UK.

How would you withdraw it?

You get a chequebook and debit card, I just wouldn't use them in the UK.

But it could be used to pay for things online such as services and digital products.

I see. That would work well. Would you be able to go to the U.S., withdraw the money, and then bring it back to the U.K.? I'm guessing not, but am actually quite ignorant on this subject matter.

Lol, I could but that would be pushing my luck a bit to far. I dont think it is totally by the book what I am considering anyway.

I believe there was a case of a millionaire in the UK paying someone to bring in large ammounts of cash from offshore to avoid tax a few years back... I cant remember the details but I dont think it went down too well.

I will get proper advise from my accountant before doing anything though.

That's probably the best idea. I know that having offshore bank accounts is legal, but how you use them is somewhat of a grey area to me. I'd definitely suggest talking to both a lawyer and an accountant before proceeding with anything. I'd be interested to hear back what they say about it. I wouldn't be too surprised if they said that it may cause more problems than benefits.
