PayPal Virtual Debit Card?

Has anyone ever tried and/or used the Virtual Debit Card from paypal? I'm considering using it. Are there limits? Any "paypal horror stories" I should hear? Thanks

As a matter of fact, I just found out about it a couple of weeks ago with a freelance client (or maybe it was somebody I was doing a referral swap with.)

Either way, I've been using it since, haven't had any problems, and its just like have a regular debit card, you can pay anywhere you want to and it'll charge your PayPal account with it. Actually is a good idea, only thing is that you can't take the card with you, thus giving it the name "virtual" --- DUH! lol

But yeah, its useful Bryan and it doesn't cost any transaction fee's to pay online (not that I've seen of yet.)

I got an email today from PayPal offering me a credit card... which is a step in the right direction, hopefully they will offer debit cards in the UK shortly too.

I guess I don't get the advantage. I mean if you want to buy something that will take PayPal, why use a virtual debit card for it? Are there some benefits to using it?

I don't think I could get used to using a debit card where you didn't have to slide it through the little magnetic thing and then figure out which buttons to press on all those stupid different handheld things - why oh why can't they all be the same so I can do it in my sleep

Its basically only useable online... you setup your VDebit, it gives you an virtual debit card number (this card acts as a MasterCard debit.) It'll also give you an expiration date... only thing is that when you need a CVV, you put in 000 --- if you need to know anything else let me know.

P.S. All the information is given to you in a small popup and your card number never changes so you can use it anytime you want.

The only benefit I see in using the PayPal Virtual Debit Card is that it acts as a MasterCard debit, so you can use it on sites that accept MasterCard but not PayPal. Other than that, I can't think of a reason for using it.

And basically, any site that takes credit cards accepts MasterCard... really no other downfall at least to me. AS an added bonus, I got my "physical" PayPal debit card today

Sucks I have no money to spend though.

lol. What exactly do you mean by "physical"? Is it just a number that you can use at physical stores?

I used it for a few months, but then just found it easier to move my money to my bank account and then just use my regular credit card. You'll learn when you're making more money that it's easier on your books if you only spend one through one system: credit card, debit card, paypal debit card, paypal, etc. You'll want to pick just one.
