Default Recommend Bookkeeping Software

Can you recommend a good Home Bookkeeping software? One of my New Year's Resolutions is to get organized so I'm trying to set up some kind of bookkeeping system. Any help would be appreciate.

For small home business, I highly recommend QuickBooks Simple Start Edition. I've been using it for about a year and it is really easy to use, but has everything that you could want.

Its not for personal finance tracking really though.

I use Quicken and really like it so far. The software makes it easy to prepare taxes for my home and business.

For personal finance bookkeeping, I use Microsoft Money. It has a pretty cool feature that allows you to download your transactions from your accounts (bank, credit and loans) so you don't have to type them in if you don't want to. It will also match your transactions if you do type them in. For business bookkeeping, we use Peachtree. Peachtree and Quickbooks are the most appropriate accounting software available for small business, and from what I have heard about Quickbooks, the two are very similar.

Oh, gosh, yes - apart from the usual resolutions, that is one thing I really need to do. I wanted to be more organized last year, and it didn't work out, and I am really going to be suffering come tax-time.

I was like that this year trick-r-treat. I am not as organized as I should be, and I probably will miss out on some deductions since I haven't kept as close track or them as I should have. 2007 will be much better that way.

We have been using Quickbooks Pro for some time. After getting some initial help to use the software to its maximum potential we are very pleased with the product. It really works for our small business.

Like most everyone else said, Quickbooks. We have literally tried every other popular option (MS Small Business, MS Money, Peachtree, etc) and although there might be a bit of a learning curve on Quickbooks, it really is about the same of any other financial management software.

For personal finances, I highly recommend it's counterpart, Quicken.
