What do you think of the new Macromedia Flex?

Has anybody else played around with the new Macromedia Flex? I watched some of the tutorials and played around with it and thought that you could do some pretty cool stuff with it.

Does anybody else ever think they will use it to develop something on the web?

I have never really looked into it much, from what I have seen I don't really see the difference between flex and flash.

Watch some of the demos where they code examples. It would take you months to code some of that stuff in flash.

I haven't used the new Macromedia Flex yet. I watched some of the demos, but I haven't had a chance to get my hands on it. It looks quite good, though. I thought Macromedia was going to die after Adobe bought them. And if not die that their products were going to get merged into Adobe's line.

I'm not a flash developper, but it looks like Flex will be useful for those who are.
I agree with you Scott about thinking that Macromedia would basically disapate into Adobe's line when they were bought.

So this is a Flash development tool.
How is it different from Flash?
