Default What do you use for web stats?

I'm currently using CPanel's AW Stats. I wish there was something better, but that's what my web host provides me with. What do you use for web stats?

I've been testing out Google Analytics in combination with AW Stats. Between the two of those, my needs are covered. Unforunately, Google Analytics isn't open to the public yet.

My awstats broke! I complained to my host but they said it's using up too much processor power to load it since the logs are too large. That's another reason to move to a dedicated server. I have a Google Analytics account, it's pretty decent.

I use AW Stats and Urchin. I use AW Stats on my Linux machines and Urchin on my Windows ones. I greatly prefer Urchin to AW Stats, but AW Stats still gets the job done. I'm also looking forward to Google Analytics.

I use AW Stats, because it comes for free with CPanel.

Do you have to pay for Urchin?. I currently have the CPANEL setup on my domain and it is listed there but when I click to view it, it tells me that no account is available.

Do I have to setup it or pay for it? Or should I contact my host about it..?

Thanks..

I love this question because I found such an awesome tool. First, I'll tell you that we host our own sites and use CPanel. In the past, I've typically looked at Webalizer.

Now, I've found something that's just a boatload of fun! Go figure. A traffic analysis tool? Fun? Yes, it's called VisitorVille http://www.visitorville.com/?id=514.

This program turns your traffic into an animated 3Dimensional city with buildings, or houses that represent your site pages and people walking around that represent your visitors. The more popular your pages are, the taller buildings they become. Your visitors can also take taxis that demonstrate their navigation through your site. It's like your Awestats married the SIMS. Now don't get me wrong, as clever as it is, it's not just a toy. The stats that it provides are more comprehensive than any other program I've seen. It just makes the stats a whole lot easier to understand.

I find myself now looking to find ways of making my "city" bigger by trying to add pages that will be more attractive to more visitors. Have fun!

Cheers Jennifer! That's an excellent find. It's a really interesting twist, I'm looking forward to trying it out. Welcome to the forum.

Many hosts offer it for a small monthly fee.
