I think that's the point though "IF you are doing any kind of volume". Paypal is a lot cheaper for small businesses just starting out, specifically because they DON'T have the volume yet. It's a good place to start.

Also, on a side note, I'm in AZ too, and Wells Fargo has an extremly poor reputation here. They don't play nice with small businesses.

Paypal is okay to start yourself off. I disagree that it looks unprofessional because i deal with a lot of established merchants that use paypal such as penguin magic. They have there own cart and take paypal. The company is worldwide. I deal with others that only take paypal.

I have heard different opinions about paypal...wasn’t there a class action suit not long ago? Also, there is another company posing as paypal which is doing them a disservice.

I have Paypal, Safepay, Stormpay, and Alert Pay I quess it all depends on what you need.

PayPal would be cheaper if you receive less than $3500 per month in payments. However if you are receiving more than this, you might want to consider a merchant account. If you have a relatively low transaction volume however don't want to hassle with paypal, Google checkout would be a good solution for you.

This is all food for thought. I use paypal on a small scale and have been very pleased, I have them transfer my money to my bank account, which is very convienant, but I will soon be doing business on a larger scale and was considering my options. Truthfully, I'm getting frustrated and have no idea which way to go.

You can always stick with paypal until you need to expand into a real merchant account. Some people never leave paypal and some people will never use paypal, if you have had a good experience stick with them.

I use PayPal for almost all of my writing transactions. Makes it easy for me to keep track of who has paid me what (and why). I'm also one of those old fashioned writers that takes checks or money orders, and at least one of my clients pays me through direct deposit to my checking account. Talk about convenience!

I use Paypal because I am unwilling to pay a monthly fee to a cc company. IF there is ever a question about what was paid to me, I just print out the report from Paypal.
