Default Froogle?

Does anyone use Google's Froogle service?

I remember a while ago now when it was introduced it seemed potentially a good idea but I wasn't sure whether it would take off, faced with competition from eBay and loads of large retail site.

It has matured a little bit now, and I still have never seriously thought of using it, so I was wondering if any of you ever have, or know people who do?

Last time I tried Froogle, it was still in beta experimental stage...but looking back at it, I still don't find it that amazing. It may be simply due to the fact that I haven't been using it a whole lot...but it seems like I could find the same information on the base Google search engine.

Anyone had better experiences with it?

Froogle is basically like a google service where you search a product and get reviews and different prices.

I have heard of it and use it alot. Its easy to find the cheapest stores and which one has the most happy customers etc.

So you would say that in the time that you've used it, you had better results with it than regular Google?

I have used Froogle and yes, I find it's quicker than google, because the search scope is narrower. Yes, I could search through google, but I have to sift through the extranneous stuff and time is money!

Interesting to see that some people do use it. I will have to try it again. I suppose the obvious next question is what do you use it for?

Consumer electronics, computer stuff, hobby things, books, others?

Hmm nice to know, I remember trying it, but I didn't find it faster (back then.) I guess next time that I need to search for something specific...I'll give it a second chance.

I glance through Froogle when I'm shopping, just to get a price range - But all too often I think the retailers look shady, and end up going with Amazon.

Good point, I have had the same impression - one of the reasons I don't bother. I am not usually inclined to go with an unknown and unheard of company just to save a few pounds/dollars when I can get a known good service from one or two preferred sites.
