Default Selling tickets via paypal

I was told that paypal do not like tickets sold through their service as it is not an actual product and the event can be cancelled, does anyone know if this is true?

Event Tickets should help explain it. They probably don't like it because of the high risk of chargebacks so you need to be careful to protect your paypal account.

Thank you for that link, I think the chargebacks is what they must be worried about.

They may also be worried about the concept of ticket "scalping". Any of the sites that let you sell things has to protect themselves against all the legalities.

Chargebacks is their main concern. Because I can always call up my card issuer and say I did not go to the venue. The card issuer will give me my money back and there is really no way for you to prove otherwise.

Or I could say it was not what I was expecting. Chances are good I will get my money back.

And then on the merchant side as wawamama pointed out, you have deceitful merchants who will scalp the tickets and if caught, the consumer will want his / her money back.

So the processors are trying to protect themselves from both the consumer and the merchant. The consumer gets protection from the merchant via the card issuer. And the merchant is trying to protect himself from the consumer.

They like it because of the high risk of chargebacks which make work more harder for PayPal. You can check their FAQ. PayPal Acceptable Use Policy - PayPal

I am glad you agree with the same link and information that was posted previously Rohitpatel. But they don't like it because it costs them money.

Thanks Corey Bryant. Yes it is very costly. I know it because one of my friend did it same thing than PayPal sent him an e-mail about chargeback condition from ticket sells. So this is not good way for tickets sell.

I think Google Checkout is better for this because this payment option only accept CC.
