I am not a regular Ebay seller who works on Ebay for a living, but I do have some selling and buying experience on Ebay. To me Ebay is a place where one's garbage is another's treasure. Ebay opened up a HUGE market for businesses and international sellers. Forget about going to the store. Ebay sells virtually everything. Just having an account gives you the power to buy and sell professionally.

I only sell larger household items I no longer need on ebay. I do have a friend that is very successful on ebay, but she sells specialty handmade baby clothes. They are very popular, and she makes a ton of money. I think it's all about offering a unique product for the right price on ebay.

Link you site to the auction. You have to be creative like with pics or more information but it brings you more business.

I wonder if, because Ebay has raised its fees, it wouldn't be more cost effective to list only one or two items but link out to your site where other, non-auction items are listed. It seems a good way to draw traffic and develope more interest.

Has anyone done this? If you have, do you think it was worth the effort?

You have to have a well written ad and a good title to attract people. Always be honest when describing itemsm so that people know they can trust you and you can get good feedback.
