Default Cyber Garage Sale

I have a friend with two teens and one tween (16, 14, 12). During the first rainy day after summer vacation started, the kids were driving her nuts with that "What'll I do?" syndrome.

She finally made them a business proposition. They cleaned their rooms while she and hubby cleaned the rest of the house. All unused items went into the basement. The kids were responsible for doing research on eBay to determine if the items had any market value, photographing them, creating eBay listings for them, sending invoices when the auctions ended, and shipping the items (except for the big stuff, of course), and transporting whatever didn't sell to a local charity. The kids got to split the money between them.

Not only did this keep her kids busy for several weeks, it also taught them some valuable business lessons. And my friend got a clean house. In fact, it worked so well her next project is a neighborhood cyber sale. Neat idea, huh?

Great idea for sure but I don't want the secret to get out to my area to quick. LOL

I like to search garage sales and flea markets for products that can be sold on ebay. I've found boxes of records for $5 and sold most of the records for over $500. I've found antiques for a few dollars and sold them for 10 or 20 times on ebay. People are just trying to get rid of stuff and sometimes they don't realise the value of the things they are selling. One man's junk is another man's treasure is what they say don't they?

Great idea, I've got alot of"junk" I could clean out and sell, but I hate the idea of having strangers come to my house.

That's a great idea. The key is knowing what it the item is so you may end up being a specialist/expert of some sort on a certain category. A little research also helps. There are hits and misses too, but the point is its enjoyable and nets money in the process. What more can you ask for?

That is a great idea. I talked my parents into doing that and they hired their neighbors daughter to take the pictures and list the products. They made a few hundred dollars and gave their neighbors daughter 25% of what they made.

I think it's a great idea

That's a good idea. I love going to yard sales & flea markets to buy stuff to resell on ebay. It's a fun way to make money. I have found some really good deals & sold them for tons more then what I paid for them.
