Default Ebay

I'm interested in getting started in an ebay business, but have no particular access to cheap products or specialization in any product segment. For those of you running an ebay business, how did you get started? Did you just run into a cheap product source, or did you just get involved in a product segment you knew very well? Thanks!

I think that most people get a little practice first by selling things that are still good, but they no longer need or want them.

THat's how I started, and well, that is still what I do. I don't even know where to look for extra items as to make a business. Still, I have bought and sold stuff on ebay, and I have not sed one penny of my own money since the money comes and goes, all from the first few selling transactions I did years back.

Yes the fees are very high and it's hard to stay afloat. There are so much competition from other sellers and people want items super cheap.

I started out selling things around the house and from flea markets. You need to decide what you want to sell and see if there is a market for that on eBay. Then you need to find a real wholesaler.Finding a wholesaler is the hard part. You can search for a wholesaler in your local library or the internet.

There is SO MUCH competition on ebay that I think it would be difficult to find a wholesaler whose product is not already represented on Ebay. I've never sold much on there but things we no longer wanted though.

Yes I would agree that the first products I sold were things I no longer needed or items that I had duplicates of or other items that were similar.

eBay seller fees are ridiculous. I at times sell things I no longer need, but sometimes I feel like I'm practically giving things away because of the fees. I noticed that around or before Christmas would be the best time for selling. People are willing to pay a disgusting amount of money for the latest electronic toys and gadgets that are hard to find. Anyone sold a ps3 or ipod right before Christmas?
