I have heard a lot of good stories about buying and selling items on e-bay but I have never experienced any of this myself. But, since I've read this post and know I could sell books on e-bay, I think I may give this a try.

Yeah I think ebay is flooded with alot of sellers with the same products. It seems that sellers think that because it's ebay that the items should be super cheaper. Buyers don't realize how expensive fees can be for the sellers.

The power of eBay is that is offers instant exposure - an instant audience of millions. If you don't have a large mailing list, which most of you don't, you won't find many places to get your products in front of so many eyeballs.

I think that, as far as online auctions go, ebay is king - they have the traffic. Yeah, they have high fees too, but their sell-through rate is way above any other venue I think. Its hard to get away from them if you are going auction.

I find a great method is to put a reserve that includes shipping and post free shipping on your auctiion. I boosted my sales tremendously.

Ebay is an awsome place to sell your goods. Especially if their unique. If you're trying to sell common products than it can really get tough. You really have to compete with alot of people. Some provide prices that you just can't match. So if you're selling something unique than it's an awsome choice!

Of course, if you put a reserve, isn't there some sort of fee associated with that? Although if it boosted your sales a lot, that is a good thing. Do you advertise Free Shipping in the auction title?
