I've been looking into several affiliate programs and was curious if anyone uses Amazon? After reading some of the posts on what people like I am wondering about it. I was already concerned when I read that they only pay quarterly. Any opinions?

I am an amazon affiliate, after four weeks of no one clicking on the ads I've taken most of them off my site. People click on google a lot more and I didn't want them to be overpowered with too many ads.

I've been using Amazon for quite a while now. Though, I will admit I haven't been promoting it too much. Lack of time bascially.

They have changed their payment schedule to monthly now.

Amazon is a dead market theres to much competition you should look into commision junction or click bank there are hundreds of better affiliate programs then Amazon

I've been an Amazon affiliate for about 5 years and have made less than $100. For the most part, people just go directly to Amazon's site. I'd invest my time in something else that might be more profitable for you.

I like using Amazon's stand alone store front so that I can choose the items that suit the cutomers that I cater to. I find that there is alot less control and flexibility using places like Comission Junction and Click Bank. They have flooded the market just as much as Amazon, when it comes to banner or text linking affiliates.

With the Amazon Associate Stores, codes to embed the store front into a page on your site are provided. This seamless shopping option grabs attention better than the banner or text links of most affiliate programs.

I wonder if being an Amazon Associate doesn't work better for people who have a reason to recommend certain books on their sites. For instance, I'm the Senior Issues Editor for one website, and could recommend multiple books of interest to seniors and their families. Maybe in that kind of situation, affiliating with Amazon wouldn't be such a bad idea. I'll have to try it.

I was one of the original affiliates when they first opened up. It was a joke then. I just went back and found out about the a-stores. I installed one at my site the end of last week. The best part is you construct it to conform to your niche and it saves on bandwidth.

As stated theres too much competition
combine this with having to wait quarterly for payment is too much of a hassle

For me it was average Affiliate progarm because of tarffic of my sites but than I choose CJ.com insted of this and earn better than this. So if you doesn't have good traffic than you have to ignore it.
