Default blog and ezine

Marketing is done in a conversational way and via the links on your blog. Announcements can be posted on the blog and to one's list. I have seen the blog and ezine database as complimentary...working together to increase your exposure and make it easier for people to get your information and build relationships.

I think its also helpful in that you can use a blog with a steady membership or even an interest group to carry out market research. For example, one could use a blog at say a dating site to conduct market research into what features people would look for when joining a new dating site and what features they do not like on the one they are currently on. The uses for blogs and/or ezines are virtually only limited to your skills and imagination... and of course the traffic they receive.

I've always imagined a business blog to be rather a replacement for an ezine. Do you really think you need both? What would you put in one that you would not put in another?

Do you post different things or the same thing? I'm having enough trouble trying to keep my blog updated - I don't think I could add another similiar thing that would just take up my time.

blogs are wonderful for advertising as long as you can make it interesting and informative, not continually harping on the same thing with the same tone and inflection or more importantly saying the same thing the same way over and over incessantly. They allow you to build a userbase of people interested in what you have to offer and they are far less formal or annoying as just plain flashing ads that you see on just about every site out there.

When blogging, I believe it is best just to write out what's on your mind. Hype is a real turnoff on a blog - people come to it for info, not to be sold on something (even though that sometimes happens). Usually saying what's on your mind - truthfully - will generate the most response.

I think it helps to have several compabitle things, set each up with its own category, then rotate update the pages. It helps to embed rss feeds if you have a blog that pings automatically when there is new information on the site. If you can set the rss to update daily, you will get that ping every 24 hours without having to provide all of the content yourself..

I said this in another post while it's a great idea you have to check the source of the content. Right now any and everyone is calling themselves an expert and throwing info out there that is not all that credible.
