Hey

I'm not much of an affiliate program junkie, so I don't know anything about them really. Can anyone explain how Adsense works.

Obviously I know how it works, I've used them before etc etc. But I'm never really generating anything off of it.

In the last 7 days these are my stats...

• Page impressions - 1,578
• Clicks - 25
• Page CTR - 1.58%
• Earnings - $1.51

I know it's not exactly a massive amount of clicks, but I'd expect to generate more than $1.51 from it. I'm not sure as to how it's worked out, how to achieve higher etc.

Any help is appreciated.

$0.06 per click is about average with adsense I find for most industries. Some pay more like financial and insurance sites.

The easiest way for you to increase how much you make will be to increase the CTR by improving ad placement and integration.

Frustrates me when I see people talking about making on average $1 per click with YPN

Also you should be careful, google dont like people discussing their CTR etc.

I wish Google was a little bit more open about how much they were paying per kind of website (i.e. financial websites or general sports blog). It would be nice if they would tell you how much per click you would make before making the websites. However, that'll never happen, so you'll have to do the math yourself.

The problem with that is everyone will make sites for the highest paying keywords, for example 'mesothelioma' is/was rumoured to be paying alot and a gazillion mesothelioma targeted sites appeared.

Price will be defined by demand and availability.

Although you can still kind of work it out with AdWords budget tool thingy, you have to think of the keywords yourself though instead of browsing a list of highest.

Its the best way to track which ads are actually getting the clicks

The whole customizing of Adsense thing confuses me a bit. Mostly I'm confused as to how I can find time to learn about and do it. I've gotten as far as realizing I get more clicks with links instead of boxes and not having them only at the bottom
